Chris Gardiner’s two-dimensional work moves between Geometric Abstraction, Neo-Dada, and Art Informel, combining spontaneous gesture with deliberate structure. His drawings and paintings explore the tension between order and disruption, where images emerge, transform, and sometimes dissolve back into the surface. Through painting, drawing, and collage, Gardiner brings together improvisation, humor, and careful construction. The work embraces unexpected connections and visual contradictions—a meeting point between Free Jazz and Professional Wrestling.
Gardiner has exhibited his work in Canada and the United States, including solo and group exhibitions in Toronto, Boston, Halifax, and Southern Ontario. His work is held in public and private collections in Rome, Turin, Los Angeles, Toronto, Boston, and Guelph.
